Location

The Isthmus of Tehuantepec is a region of Mexico where the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans are located at a shorter distance, for this reason it is the natural border between North America and Central America.

The isthmus comprises a part of Mexico located between longitudes 94 ° and 96 ° West. At its narrowest point, the isthmus reaches 200 km away from the Pacific Ocean (or more precisely, the Gulf of Tehuantepec) and the Gulf of Mexico. The entire region is in a warm tropical climate zone.
