Zapotecs

The Zapotec culture in the Zapotec town, which historically occupied the south of Oaxaca and the south part of the "Ithmo of Tehuantepec".Zapotec were one of the most important civilizations of Mesoamerica. This group is called Binnizá, which means' People of the Clouds', in ancient times were known by other groups as Zapotecatl, which means "place of the gods', but with the arrival of the Spanish to Mexican territory, the name remained in Zapotecos, as they are currently known.
